IN a bizarre incident, a 24-day-old infant (girl) mysteriously disappeared from home at village Kirari, approximately about 40-kilometre away from here on late Sunday night. The innocent child was sleeping with her mother while rest of the family members was in the other room. The main door was also locked from inside, but the child disappeared at night causing a stir in the village. According to information, the mother of the child woke up at around 2 o’clock in the night to feed her when she was shocked to find the infant missing from the bed. DSP (Headquarters) Udyan Behar said that the woman delivered a baby at village Kirari last month. Currently the child is about 24- days old. Her mother told Police that on Sunday night she was sleeping with her newborn baby girl in the room while her two daughters, husband and other family members were sleeping in the other room.

 

When she woke up late in the night and found the child missing, she informed the family members. They immediately informed Police and the villagers and tried to search the baby in surrounding areas, but failed. According to DSP Udyan Behar, child’s disappearance can be termed mysterious as the house has only one door and there is a way towards the roof. The woman herself had closed the door of the room in which she and the child were sleeping. When she woke up, the girl was found missing. But, the door of the room was found closed. In such a situation, how the girl disappeared without opening the door is a matter of investigation. Police are investigating all aspects of the incident.

 

Masturi Police also engaged Forensic team, Dog Squad and ACCU (Anti Crime Cyber Unit) team in the investigation. Police are investigating the case from many angles. Also, the child is being searched around the wells and ponds of the village. Police investigation revealed that missing child is the third daughter of the family. They have a four and two-year-old daughters before this. Meanwhile, the answers of the family and the woman during interrogation also surprised police. The mother of the infant said that she herself had locked the room’s door from inside. Even when the daughter disappeared, the door was locked from inside. In such a situation, Police suspect involvement of family members in this episode. Till the time of filing this report Police are investigating the case from every angle and is searching for the child.
