Vendors setting up shops outside designated hawker zones and disrupting traffic will no longer be tolerated. The Jabalpur Municipal Corporation will seize their handcarts and stalls, impose hefty fines and also present their cases before the competent court. In an effort to streamline city's traffic, Municipal Commissioner Preeti Yadav conducted inspection of all hawker zones in the city, on Tuesday. During inspection she issued stern warning that any vendors setting up shops outside the allocated areas within the hawker zones and disrupting traffic will face severe consequences, including the seizure of their carts and stalls, hefty fines and legal action.

She also instructed all small and big traders to conduct their business within designated shop boundaries and not to place any items outside. Failure to comply will result in both confiscation and fines. Yadav also directed anti-encroachment officers and team leaders to ensure strict compliance of the directives. She said if shops are found outside hawker zones affecting traffic, the responsible team leader will face strict action.

The Municipal Commissioner inspected Rampur Hawkers Zone, Gorakhpur Hawkers Zone, Bada Fuhara and Niwadganj Vegetable Market. She asked concerned officials to work with the anti-encroachment squad to organize Rampur and Gorakhpur hawker zones. She said all shops must be set up within the fixed lines, ensuring no shops are placed on the road. During inspection of Bada Fuhara and Niwadganj Vegetable Market, Municipal Commissioner Yadav observed utter uncleanliness caused by vendors and shopkeepers. Expressing displeasure on the same, she called officials and asked them to realise fine from guilty persons.
