Two weather systems are active in Madhya Pradesh due to the cyclonic circulation and trough line. On Wednesday, Bhopal and Indore recorded downpour with sharp decline in day temperature. Most of the districts in State recorded storm, rain, thunder and lightning. Heavy rainfall was received in seven districts including Guna and Ashok Nagar. Meteorology Department said heavy rain fall and storm will be continued in parts of State for a week. Bhopal, Indore, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Ujjain and a few other cities is likely to receive heavy rain during midnight on Wednesday. Areas in Bhopal including MP Nagar, Tulsi Nagar, New Market, Kolar Road, Raisen Road and other few locations saw traffic chaos with the downpour on Wednesday. Weather Department has released orange alert for three days. This year June has broken all records with 9.6 inches of rainfall. In past ten years, this is the third time highest rainfall in city.
 
Weather officials said that this year chances are to break the record of year 2021 when 10.5 inches of rain was recorded. Bhopal has started receiving rain since June 21. Meteorology department has released alert for heavy rainfall till July 5. According to IMD, orange alert for July 5 while yellow alert is for July 8. IMD has said that day and night temperature will be declining with the rain. Weather scientists Arun Sharma said that a strong weather system is active above Madhya Pradesh and this is responsible for bringing ongoing heavy rains to the state. Alerts have been issued for intense showers for Gwalior and Morena on Thursday. Other parts can experience thunderstorms and lightning also.
 
Light rain is expected in Shivpuri, Sheopur, Datia’s Ratanpur, Orchha in Niwari, Tikamgarh, Bhind, Balaghat, Mandla, Seoni, Rewa, and Satna. By Sunday afternoon, weather conditions may change in Chitrakoot, Mauganj, northern Chhatarpur, Dindori, and Anuppur. Bhopal and Jabalpur could also experience rainfall. A yellow alert for thunderstorms and lightning has been forecast for Indore, Ujjain and other districts on Sunday. Also, there is an orange alert for heavy rain in Niwari, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Panna, Damoh, Katni, Jabalpur, Sagar and Balaghat. Heavy rain may also occur in Gwalior, Bhopal, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Ashoknagar, Satna, Maihar, Umaria, Shahdol, Anuppur, Dindori, Khargone, Khandwa, Sehore, Narmadapuram.
