Two eminent professors retired from Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University (JNAU) Dr A K Saravgi and Dr S B Nahatkar have been appointed as first Lokpal of JNAU and Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University (NDVSU). Both the Lokpals were honoured during a programme held at Koutilya auditorium, JNAU on Wednesday. The programme was graced by Vice-Chancellor, JNAU Dr Pramod Kumar Mishra as chief guest. Addressing the gathering, Vice-Chancellor, Dr Mishra expressed pleasure on appointment of two retired professors from JNAU as Lokpals at JNAU and NDVSU.
 
Both Dr Saragvi and Dr Nahatkar were honoured by offering Angvastram and other presents. The Vice-chancellor expressed hope that both the officers will efficiently fulfill their duties and promptly redress students’ problems. Invited as special guest, Dean, Agriculture Faculty, Dr Dhirendra Khare mentioned Dr Saragvi and Dr Nahatkar the most experienced and determined retired professors who have received important responsibility as Lokpals of both of the major universities.
 
Director Agri-Business Management Institute, Dr Mony Thomas congratulated both Dr Saragvi and Dr Nahatkar for their new responsibilities. Expressing his vies, Dr Saragvi said that right from the beginning, he shared a special bond with the students. Dr Nahatkar said that during 40 years of his services in Agricultural University, he successfully fulfilled many responsibilities concerned with students’ welfare. The programme was compered by Assistant Manager, Laxmi Singh while Manager, Dr Lavina Sharma proposed a vote of thanks. Deans from different institutes, heads of different departments, employees and a large number of students were present on this occasion.
