A GAMBLING accused triple-storey building during a police raid in Hyderabad succumbed to injuries in hopsital. Following an autopsy, Gowlidoddi police handed over the body to the family, who have since transported it to Bhilai, police reported. According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Sujit Sao, 24, son of Pramod Sao, a resident of Road No. 18, Camp-1, Bhilai. The police stated that on June 28, while attempting to crack down on an online gambling racket, the Durg police team raided an apartment in Gowlidoddi, Hyderabad.

The raid was based on a tip-off, and after tracking and camping in the city, the team moved in. During the raid, Sujit Sao, in an effort to evade arrest, jumped off the triple-storey building and was critically injured. He was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad city but passed away during treatment on Thursday noon. After completing his post-graduation, Sujit Sao was looking for a job when he came into contact with Vinay Yadav, the kingpin of the Mahadev gambling app, from Ruabandha, Bhilai. Yadav lured Sujit to Hyderabad under the pretext of a catering job with a handsome salary but eventually misled him into making fast money through online gambling.

Sujit Sao was among six other accused operating the online gambling racket from the apartment when the police raid occurred, leading to his tragic end. ASP (City) Sukhnandan Rathore informed the newspaper that after the Gowlidoddi police handed over the body, the family transported it to Bhilai. The body is preserved in the morgue of Government Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, Supela, Bhilai, awaiting the arrival of relatives. Sujit Sao was one of the accused involved in operating the gambling racket from the apartment.
