RAIPUR,
A TEAM of Rajasthan police on
Friday reached Raipur from Kota
to serve a notice to RTI activist
Kunal Shukla.
Earlier, the police team
also raided the house of RTI
activist Kunal Shukla in Shailendra
Nagar.
The development comes in the
wake of an objectionable comment posted by the RTI activist against Lok Sabha
Speaker Om Birla. In this regard,
Kota (Rajasthan) police had registered an FIR on April 13 against
Kunal Shukla under multiple
Sections of Indian Penal Code
(IPC) including 419, 500, 171-G,
120-B, to be read with Section
66(D) and 67 of IT Act, which
amounts to criminal charges of false
propaganda, criminal conspiracy
and others.
Three officers of Rajasthan Police have reached Kunal Shukla’s
Shailendra Nagar residence, under Kotwali police station limits,
with a copy of the FIR in this matter. “Decision on arrest will be
taken after interrogating Kunal,” police sources said. Notably,
Kunal Shukla had also been the Chairman of the Kabir Research
Committee under Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University (Pt RSU)
during the Congress rule. Talking to The Hitavada, SSP Raipur Santosh
Kumar Singh confirmed that a 3-member team of Rajasthan Police
from Kota arrived here to serve notice to RTI Activist Shukla. The
Rajasthan police team led by an ASI and two others, came here
and informed Raipur’s Kotwali Police station first regarding the
incident along with copy of FIR registered against Shukla.
