MOHOTA, one of the older
teams affiliated to Vidarbha
Bridge Association, somehow
possesses the happy knack of
emerging winners. They did it
once again by emerging champions in LIC Open Duplicate
Bridge Tournament organised
by Vidarbha Bridge
Association in their sports
complex at Shankar Nagar
recently.
Competing in 49 deals contest, played across seven
rounds of seven boards each,
Mohota seized the top spot by
scoring 81.72VP. Their strength
came from efforts put on by
Basant Mohota, S Chhajjed, R
Deshpande, Samir Roy and
Anilkumar Mohota. Playwell
finished runners-up by scoring 73.10 VP. Playwell consisted of father and son duo of Raja
and Amit Rewatkar and Kumra
brothers Neeraj and Sanjeev.
In IMP pairs event played on
Saturday, VJ Puranik and M
Luley duo clinched top honours. Kumra brothers finished
second. Attractive cash
prizes were awarded to all the
winners.
At the outset, UC Mallik, Sr
Divisional Manager, LIC inaugurated the event. Arun
Puranik and Amit Rewatkar
were the tournament directors
for this brain game.
