AIDEF declares to continue struggle till achieving Non-Contributory Pension Scheme
ALL India Defence Employees
Federation (AIDEF) has
refused to accept the Unified
Pension Scheme (UPS) as second Contributory Pension
Scheme and declared to continue struggle till achieving
Non-Contributory Pension
Scheme.
AIDEF’s leaders added that
their decision to boycott the
NPS improvement
Committee and the meeting
convened by the Prime
Minister is proved to be correct and justified. AIDEF, as a
fighting Organisation will
continue its battle for restoration of OPS (Old Pension
Scheme) with all its strength
and might. Let us continue to
educate the employees and
mobilise them to continue
our struggle to achieve the
Non-Contributory Pension
Scheme under CCS Pension
Rule 1972 (Now 2021). AIDEF,
will take efforts to bring likeminded Government
Employees Organisations
together to launch Nation
Wide Agitation for restoration
of Old Pension Scheme.
According, to the
Government decision the NPS
also will continue to remain
and that UPS will be implemented from 01.04.2025 as a
Contributory Pension
Scheme. From the press
release issued by the
Government one thing is clear
that the Government will continue to snatch away 10% of
the wages of the employees,
whether they are in NPS or in
UPS. Now, as per Government
decision the employees have
to give option whether to
remain in NPS or to switch over to UPS. There are many
things which are either hidden or not clear. No GPF will
be there in UPS. Whether the
60% + 40% accumulated
wealth /fund of the employee will be returned to the
employee or not? or it is
replaced by 1/10 of the
monthly wages (Pay + DA)
for every completed 6
months as a Lump sum payment on the date of
Superannuation. While minimum Pension is Rs 10,000
the family pension will be
only Rs 6,000 as it is 60% of
the pension. In the Old
Pension Scheme the amount
of pension will be 50% of the
average emoluments of 50%
of emoluments drawn on the
date of retirement whichever is more beneficial, where
as in the UPS it is 50% of the
average Basic Pay drawn over
the last 12 months prior to
retirement. Many such issues
against the employees will
crop up after the notification is issued by the
Government.
