A SEVEN-YEAR-OLD girl was allegedly rapedonSundayby a man here, police said. The incident took place when the girl had go net o purchase milk at a nearby shop whenSafiullah(agedabout41 years), belonging to another community, took her inside the shop and allegedly raped her,AdditionalSPDeependra Nath Chowdhury said. Theshopkeeperwasknown to the accused, police said. Hearing the screams, people gathered there and nabbedtheaccused,beathim up and handed him over to the police. Superintendent of Police Sankalp Sharma said an FIR has been registered in the matter. Local BJP MLA Shalabh Mani Tripathi reached the spot and asked the police to take stern action against the accused.

 

 

AN EIGHT-YEAR-old girl was allegedlyrapedbyamanhere, police said on Sunday. According to police, the accusedwholivedinthesame localitywas arrestedafterthe girl’s mother lodged a complaint. The mothertold the police that the incident happened when her daughter went to graze goats on Friday. The accused lured herinto hishouseandallegedlyraped her, police said. A MANwasonSundayarrestedfor allegedly rapinghis 10- year-old neighbour in Kalyan town ofMaharashtra’s Thane district, police said. The 32-year-old accused has been booked on the charges of assault and rape under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, an official said. The assault took place on Saturdayafternoonwhenthe child went to the accused’s house to play with his children. The accused was alone in the house at the time, and heallegedlytouchedherinappropriately andrapedher, he said. The girl returned home andinformedherparents,following which they approached the police, the official said.

 

 

POLICE on Sunday arrested a42-year-oldmanforallegedly raping a 12-year-old girl in his neighbourhood in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, an official said. Accused Rama Ganpat Bhoir,aresident of Tarapur, allegedly committed the crimeonSaturdayafternoon, he said. Bhoir entered the girl’s home when she was alone and raped her. He fled from the spot after she raised an alarm. Afterbeinginformedbyher about the sexual assault, the girl’s parents filed a police complaint, the official said. Policehaveregisteredacase againstBhoirunderBharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) section 64 (rape) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, the official said.
