Kohefiza cops bust inter-state gang of burglars

ACTING against the burglary cases being reported in the city, the Kohefiza police personnel taking a swift action on Wednesday cracked a loot case of Rs 50 lakh and claimed to have arrested accused identified as Naseer Khan (36) and Afroz Khan (36). The cops have recovered item worth Rs 50 lakh that includes gold and silver jewellery amounting to Rs 34 lakh, an auto purchased from stolen money, 2 countrymade guns along with 7 live cartridges. The arrest of Naseer Khan was executed based on the tip off by the whistleblower that Narseen was planning to commit a crime in the city. Noting the seriousness of the case, cops while invoking sections 25 and 27 of Arms Act against Naseer apprehended the accused.
 
The cops in its actions have recovered a pistol and 2 live cartridges. During interrogation the arrested felon revealed that he was on a recce and was scheduling a plan to carry robbery in the area along with his accomplice Afroz Khan resident of Itkhedi and absconding accused Alim Khan hailing from Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. The information stated that the accused carried 8 robberies at Jain Nagar, Vithal Nagar, Vijay Nagar, Datta Colony in Kohefiza region. Furthermore, 1 robbery was carried at Jhangirabad, 1 at Tatya Tope Nagar, 2 at Gautam Nagar, 3 at Shahajhanabad, 1 at Shymla Hills. Carrying the arrest operation of Afroz Khan based on the information furnished by Naseer, the cops recovered one country made gun and 5 live cartridge from Afroz. During the investigation the police have recovered huge amount of gold, 2.5 kg silver, currency of Ethiopia, a vehicles used in the theft, items along with screwdrivers used in braking locks, instruments for weighing gold and silver, documents of immovable property. The felons have earlier carried thievery Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. In connection with the incidents of theft and embezzlement, gold and silver worth about Rs 34 lakh were seized along with documents of property worth Rs 8 lakh purchased with the stolen money. Additionally, the accused are being interrogated in connection with other thefts that took place in the city. The accuses Afroz Khan resident of Itkheda has multiple cases of crime registered against him.
 
The warrants of the accused are pending in many police stations, information about which is also being collected. The accused is absconding in many previous cases at Sipri Bazar police station of Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. Crimes are registered against him in Gautam Nagar police station, Ashoka Garden, Aishbagh, Piplani, Kohefiza, Crime Branch police station and Bairagarh police station of the city. Naseer Khan, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, and nephew of Afroz Khan carried various theft cases along with Afroz. Theft case against Naseer is registered in Kotwali Lalitpur. Absconding accused Alim Khan resident of Jhansi who is an accomplice of Afroz Khan had case registered against him at Lalitpur and Jhansi.
