Dixit moves into pre-quarters

 

 

THE Hitavada’s Nikhil Dixit moved into the pre-quarterfinals in singles category of the Suyash Herbal Media Badminton Tournament organised by Sports Journalists’ Association of Nagpur (SJAN) at Subhedar Hall, Ravi Nagar. The tournament is being organised in association with Nagpur District Badminton Association (NDBA) and Department of Sports and Physical Education of RTM Nagpur University. Dixit defeated Navbharat’s Manish Shrivas in two straight games to move into the last 16. Dixit took the first game 15-4 and then wraped it off taking the second 15-5.

 

 

Top seed and defending champion Ashish Jain defeated Akash Masne 15-2, 15-3 to move into pre-quarters. Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Vikas Ahuja, Director, Ayush Herbal. Dr Satish Gawande, Deshmukh Mangesh Kashikar, Senior Vice President, Maharashtra Badminton Association and Secretary, Nagpur District Badminton Association, Dr Vishakha Joshi, Acting Director, Sports and Physical Education, RTMNU, Paritosh Pramanik, Secretary, SJAN, Nilesh Deshpande, Treasurer were also present. Aditya Galande is tournament referee while Aditya Chilkulwar, Abhishek Hayaran, Gaurav Narnaware and Yatharth Meshram are the umpires.
