Much-hyped steel over bridge being constructed on priority corridor from Subhash Nagar to AIIMS for Metro train in Bhopal is expected to complete by August. Metro Corporation has received all the necessary permission from railways in this regards. Earlier, it was expected to start commercial run of metro on priority corridor by July end . Officials said that construction of steel bridge will be done by August and before that construction of over bridge in railways area is must. A steel bridge is also proposed to construct near Rani Kamlapati Railway Station. Even parts for this bridge have been delivered from Rajasthan state and assembling work was started.

 

Railway has given its consent for the construction of bridge in its area. Officials of Metro Corporation said that soon after getting block from railway, parts will be placed above the track. Installation of assembled parts will be done within two hours. Bhopal Metro Corporation, Public Relation Officer Dir Hari Om Sharma said that priority corridor got delayed due to the steel bridge only. He said without construction bridge, train cannot pass the railway station to reach AIIMS. Time limit for the construction of metro priority corridor has been extended for four times. The new target has been set for commercial run of metro as June 2025. He further said, steel bridge would be weighing around 600 metric ton and this will be connecting RKMP with DRM office. Apart from this, construction work of corridor from Karond to AIIMS will be beginning from platform number six of Bhopal railway station. According to Metro Corporation plan, at Bhopal Railway Station and Nadra Bus station, underground station will be constructed.
