The Hitavada State Bureau Raipur/Bilaspur,

The Swine flu outbreak in Bilaspur has intensified, claiming another life and raising the death toll to four. Over the past 24 hours, 11 new cases have emerged, indicating a rapid spread of the virus. The latest fatality was a 90-year-old patient at Apollo Hospital, who succumbed despite intensive care. Health authorities report a total of 107 confirmed cases in the district, with 46 still active. The Health Department is on high alert, working to contain the spread. The concern has extended across Chhattisgarh, prompting the Health Department to issue an alert statewide. Medical colleges' deans and Chief Medical and Health Officers (CMHOs) have been instructed to prepare virology labs for immediate testing of the H1N1 virus. Authorities are also pushing for the urgent recruitment of lab technicians where necessary, to ensure timely diagnosis and treatment.

In addition to Bilaspur, cases have been reported in Raipur, Rajnandgaon, and Kanker. The first case in the capital was detected in early July, involving a patient from Kanker who was successfully treated and discharged. However, delays in seeking medical help have been deadly for some, as seen in the recent fatalities in Bilaspur and Rajnandgaon. Health officials have urged the public to seek immediate testing upon noticing symptoms of Swine Flu, such as high fever, cough, and body aches. Delayed treatment can lead to severe complications or even death. The ongoing dual threat of Swine Flu and COVID-19 is a critical reminder for the population to stay vigilant and adhere to health guidelines. As the district battles these concurrent health crises, public awareness and quick action remain key to preventing further spread and casualties.
