‘KOLAR SIX-LANE PROJECT TO BE READY THIS MONTH’

 

AFTER making the denizens suffer the excruciating pain of the delay in construction of Kolar six-lane, the authorities now claim to extend relief as the Kolar six-lane project is expected to be completed by month-end. Although a field visit suggest it may take more time. One side of the road at Kolar road is closed due to the construction work. Further, the downpour that the city is witnessing is adding to the woes of commuters with water logging on the roads creating ruckus. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, Anmol Singh, a resident of Kolar road, expressing his anguish over the condition of Kolar project said that “the construction work of Kolar six lane is becoming a bane of our lives. Owing to the ongoing work one side of the road has been closed that is creating queue of honking vehicles. An addition to this headache is the dust that is raising alarm over the health of residents”.

 

The construction has thrown spanner in the work of smooth traffic flow at various parts of the city including Kolar road, Chunabhatti, Mandakini Colony, Nayapura, Mansarovar patrol pump, Danish Kunj and various other areas. People are all up in arms over the traffic snarls and dust that is taking a toll on their health. Another resident identified as Shivam, a student stated that “the construction of this project is like a nightmare to us. While going to coaching classes I have to endure the traffic problems and the dust that is present in the air is taking a toll on my health”. Notably, the 15 kilometre six lane road that was launched in 2022 and was scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023 was constructed to cater the needs of hundreds of thousands of people in the capital, but the delay in the completion has been a bane of the commuters. ‘The Hitavada’ has raised the of traffic snarls issue to the Executive Engineer Avneendra Singh but the officer denied any bottlenecks on the roads. “We do not find any bottleneck on the roads owing to the construction. No complaint over the dust or traffic snarls are being reported to us”. The Executive Engineer stated that the construction of the Kolar six lane will be completed by the end of this month.
