WITH the formation of new
Delimitation Commission,
existing districts, talukas and
divisions are set to have new
boundaries in the State. The
State Government has constituted a three-memberDelimitation Commission.
As ‘The Hitavada’ had
reported earlier with the headline ‘New Delimitation
Commission to be formed
soon’. Chief Minister Mohan
Yadav said, “When we came
in power, it was being felt that
Madhya Pradesh is second
largest state in terms of territory in the country.
At the same, there
are some challenges over time.
Districts have
grown, but districts have their
limitations, there
are many anomalies, many divisions have become
too small. To take
into account many
such discrepancies, we have
constituted a new
Delimitation Commission.”
With this step, practical difficulties faced by districts will
be taken in to account. After
reviewing situation, it will be
ensured that people shouldn’t
go to far away to address their
plight at district level. some
towns become
far away from
district headquarters. Sagar,
Indore, Dhar are
the districts are
majorly gripping
with such situation.
That will be
rectified with this
commission’s
recommendations. A refinery
was built in Bina, it became a
big place. Rationality will be
considered here in due course.
Manoj Srivastava, an officer
who has worked as Additional
Chief Secretary of the
Demarcation Commission,
has been entrusted with the
responsibility of Chairman of the Commission.
Rationalisation of such districts
will take place through the
delimitation process,” he said.
The State Government has redefined the limits of police stations
and this decision will be beneficial from the administrative
point of view, Yadav said. The
CM urged the people to submit
their suggestions to the commission. Notably, last year in
the corresponding period,
August and September 2023 BJP
government created three districts ; this time again, Dr. Mohan
Yadav led government is mulling
to create two new districts.
According to information,

already submitted a proposal
where tehsil boundaries are

carry out district-related work.
Bina from Sagar district and
Junnardeo from Chhindwara
district are on cards to become
the new districts. with this total
number of districts in the state
would be 57-58. A significant
railway junction and industrial town located on the Malwa
Plateau in Sagar district.
Junnardeo: A tehsil in
Chhindwara district with ongoing efforts to grant it district status. If made a district, it may
include Parasia and other
assembly constituencies.
