WITH the formation of new Delimitation Commission, existing districts, talukas and divisions are set to have new boundaries in the State. The State Government has constituted a three-memberDelimitation Commission. As ‘The Hitavada’ had reported earlier with the headline ‘New Delimitation Commission to be formed soon’. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said, “When we came in power, it was being felt that Madhya Pradesh is second largest state in terms of territory in the country. At the same, there are some challenges over time. Districts have grown, but districts have their limitations, there are many anomalies, many divisions have become too small. To take into account many such discrepancies, we have constituted a new Delimitation Commission.” With this step, practical difficulties faced by districts will be taken in to account. After reviewing situation, it will be ensured that people shouldn’t go to far away to address their plight at district level. some towns become far away from district headquarters. Sagar, Indore, Dhar are the districts are majorly gripping with such situation.
 
That will be rectified with this commission’s recommendations. A refinery was built in Bina, it became a big place. Rationality will be considered here in due course. Manoj Srivastava, an officer who has worked as Additional Chief Secretary of the Demarcation Commission, has been entrusted with the responsibility of Chairman of the Commission. Rationalisation of such districts will take place through the delimitation process,” he said. The State Government has redefined the limits of police stations and this decision will be beneficial from the administrative point of view, Yadav said. The CM urged the people to submit their suggestions to the commission. Notably, last year in the corresponding period, August and September 2023 BJP government created three districts ; this time again, Dr. Mohan Yadav led government is mulling to create two new districts.
 
According to information, Revenue Department has already submitted a proposal where tehsil boundaries are often far from the district headquarters, creating logistical challenges for residents wishing to carry out district-related work. Bina from Sagar district and Junnardeo from Chhindwara district are on cards to become the new districts. with this total number of districts in the state would be 57-58. A significant railway junction and industrial town located on the Malwa Plateau in Sagar district. Junnardeo: A tehsil in Chhindwara district with ongoing efforts to grant it district status. If made a district, it may include Parasia and other assembly constituencies. Two in Vindhya region: Mauganj was separated from Rewa, Pandhurna from Chhindwara and Maihar from Satna while one; Pandhurna (housing the Pandhurna and Saunsar seats) neighbouring Nagpur (Maharashtra), was created in Chhindwara (political pocket-borough of Kamal Nath).
