The upcoming Chhattisgarhi/Hindi film, ‘Gangs of Raipur’ is set to begin production under the joint banner of Tribal Warrior Production, KSK Film Works, and Deepesh Kukreja Productions. The production team held a cast reveal event at a Mall, where the film’s director K Shiv Kumar and producer Sajid Khan shared details about the project. The film, which will feature several Bollywood actors, including Rajiv Verma, is scheduled to start shooting on September 15, 2024, in various locations across Raipur and Kanker districts. Rajiv Verma is set to play the role of the Director General of Police, while other notable actors like Gopal K Singh, Sheel Verma, and Dhruvaditya Bhagwanani will also be part of the cast. Director Shivkumar mentioned that the film will incorporate advanced techniques, with a special team from Chennai handling cinematography. Mayank Raikwar, known for his work in Hollywood films, will manage editing, animation, and VFX for the movie.

 

 

This marks the first time Bollywood elements will be prominently featured in a Chhollywood production. Producer Sajid Khan highlighted several unique aspects of the film, including the use of FPV drone cameras for shooting, which will capture the beauty of Raipur, Kanker, and surrounding rural areas. The film will delve into the lives of youth who fall into the world of crime through drug addiction, with the Chhattisgarh Capital Police’s ‘Mukat Abhiyan’ campaign playing a pivotal role in the storyline. Gangs of Raipur will be the first film from Chhattisgarh to be fictionally based on crime and criminals. It will also be the first to feature multiple well-known Bollywood actors and the use of anamorphic lenses with Arri Alexa cameras. According to Sajid Khan, the film will be released in seven languages, starting with Chhattisgarhi, with plans for an OTT release on various prominent platforms.

 

The main cast of Gangs of Raipur includes Rajiv Verma, Gopal K Singh, Dhruvaditya Bhagwanani, Vijay Manwani, Sheel Verma, Akanksha Parihar, Abhishek Chaudhary, Palash Srivastava, Priyanka Sharma, Pratibha Sharma, Adhir Bhagwanani, Pushpendra Singh, Upasana Vaishnav, Sohail Sheikh, and Salman Rizvi. This film is poised to bring a fresh wave of cinematic experience to Chhattisgarh, blending the rawness of local stories with the glitz of Bollywood.
