MANY BJP leaders including Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Union Home Minister Amit on Wednesday flayed Rahul Gandhi for his remarks in the US and said, it is “extremely shameful” that the Leader of Opposition is hurting the dignity of India by saying “misleading, baseless and factless things” during his foreign tour. In a post on X in Hindi, Rajnath Singh dismissed Gandhi’s claims on the India-China border dispute as “misleading and beyond facts” and asked the Congress leader to refrain from making such false statements. At a press conference at the prestigious National Press Club in Washington, Gandhi supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s policies on Pakistan but the Leader of Opposition was critical of the latter’s handling of China. Reacting to Gandhi’s remarks, Sing h said, “He has said that the Sikh community in India is not allowed to wear turbans in Gurudwaras, they are being prevented from behaving according to their religion.
 
This is completely baseless and far from the truth,” the minister said. Singh said, the entire country recognisesandrespectsthe“greatrole”played by the Sikh community in protecting the culture of India. Union Home MinisterAmitShahsaid,RahulGandhi’s quotaremarkinAmericahasonceagain exposed the Congress’ “anti-reserva - tionface”andthatmaking“anti-nation - al statements” has become a habit for the Opposition leader and his party. Sending a stern message to Gandhi, Shah also said that as long as the BJP is there,noone canabolish reservation or mess with the nation’s security. The senior BJP leader’s comm ents came after Gandhi told students of Georgetown University in the US that the Congress would think of scrapping reservationswhen“Indiaisafairplace”, which he said is notthe case right now. In a post on X, Shah said, “Standin g wi th forces that conspire to divide the countryandmakinganti-nationalstatements have becomeahabit for Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party.”
 
Union Minister Piyush Goyal on WednesdayblastedtheCongressleader for‘spreadingfakepropaganda’against his nation and countrymen and said, the Congress MP was maligning the country on foreign soil and his party was also ‘complicit’ in whipping up ‘anti-India’ feelings . TheUnionMinister said thatRahul’s meeting with leaders having a pro - Pakistani approach and those supporting ISIS is a matter of grave concern.“ He meets Ilhan Omar,aknown antiIndia propagandist, known proPakistani. Such anti-Indian forces aligned with ISIS andtheMuslimbrotherhoodhav e become friendswiththeCongressparty. He interacts with people who raise questions against India on various forums,” Goyal said .
