With flood-like situations arising in State, the mitigation have been also started by the administration. In order to airlift the citizens trapped due to water-logging in Senkara village and Dabra town of Dabra tehsil of Gwalior district, a 60-member NDRF team has left for Gwalior in a special Air Force aircraft from Hyderabad. As per the information, this team will be divided into two teams from Gwalior airport and will help to airlift people to a safer place by helicopter. Three helicopters have also been dispatched for relief and rescue operations in Senkara village. Collector Ruchika Chauhan had contacted Hyderabad late Wednesday night at around 3:30 am to send an NDRF team after receiving information about people trapped on the island formed due to water filling all around Senkara village. Speaking on the same, Collector Chauhan emphasised, district administration teams are present in Senkara and Dabra and those trapped due to water logging are safe. They will be rescued as soon as the Hyderabad team reaches the spot. If needed, people from other places in the district would also be rescued with the help of this team.
 
The Collector said that the teams of district administration, police, urban bodies and district panchayat were present in the field last night and carried out relief and rescue operations. She said that these teams with the help of SDRF, have safely evacuated about 325 people from various places in the rural areas of the district and taken them to relief camps. Adequate quantities of food items and medicines are available in all relief camps. As per information, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav is continuously monitoring the situation of water-logging that has arisen due to recent heavy rains in Gwalior district. Instructions have been issued to the district administration to provide immediate relief to the people affected by water logging. In compliance with the instructions given by the Chief Minister, relief and rescue operations are being carried out on a war footing by the district administration.
