Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav arrived at Bahoriband on Thursday to inaugurate works under Bahoriband Lift Irrigation Project to be built with a cost of Rs 1011.05 crores. The project has been based on ‘Per Drop More Crop’ Scheme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi with an aim to utilise even a single drop of water for irrigation. On the occasion, CM Dr Yadav performed bhoomipujan and public dedication of developmental and construction works worth Rs 355 crore. Addressing the gathering, CM Dr Yadav this irrigation project would facilitate irrigation facility in 151 villages of Bahriband, Sleemanbad, Rithi and Katni, in 32,000 hectare area. He said that water for irrigation will be supplied through canal and sprinkler also.

 

Water will reach fields under this scheme. CM Dr Yadav on demand of locals announced for building Gatakheda, Jujhari, Jamunia, Sijhari reservoir. He also assured for reconstruction of Bahoriband reservoir. He announced for City Panchayat status to Bahoriband. CM Dr Yadav said that today locals are getting enjoyment of all festivals as their 40 year long awaited demand has been fulfilled. At the function, MLA Bahoriband Pranay Pandey demanded for approval of reservoir and cow shed, hostel for girls at Bahoriband. He also demanded for construction of Indoor stadium at Rithi and developing Roopnath Tigma area as tourist spot. District Incharge Minister Rao Udap Pratap said that he has been assigned the task of development of Katni and hence he will make all possible efforts in this regard. Prior to this, amidst heavy rainfall, Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav landed at Simripati helipad at Bahoriband. Local MLAs, BJP leaders were present to welcome CM Dr Yadav. MP V D Sharma, local MLA Pranay Pandey, MLA Sanjay Pathak, MLA, Mudwara Sandeep Jaiswal, District BJP President Deepak Tandon Soni, Collector Dilip Yadav, SP Abhijeet Ranjan welcomed CM Dr Yadav. Despite heavy rainfall, party workers were enthusiastic on visit of CM to Bahoriband.
