The Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) is acting tough against those selling meat, fish in open and unauthorised spaces. The Health Department of the JMC is conducting special drive to take strict action against the road-side vendors and shopkeepers who are creating uncleanliness in public places. Under the on-going drive, Health Officer Sandeep Jaiswal along with other senior officials conducted inspection of the APJ Abdul Kalam ward, on Sunday. During inspection they found that one Asif Ansari was operating wholesale fish business near a warehouse in Ayesha Nagar without a license and also creating uncleanliness in the area. Expressing displeasure over the illegal act, the JMC officials levy a fine of Rs 50,000 on fish wholesaler Asif Ansari and also seized materials from the business site. The officials also issued a warning, asking vendors to refrain from conducting business without taking valid license from the Municipal Corporation. They also asked vendors, shopkeepers to avoid creating uncleanliness at public places.
 
Health Officer Jaiswal informed that the department would continue the drive and take stringent action guilty people. Those also present during the drive were Assistant Health Officer Dharmendra Raj, Sanitation Inspector Anant Dubey, Health Inspector In-Charge K L Ahirwar, Ward Supervisor In-Charge Suresh Rai and others.
