Bhopal authorities claim to be well prepared for annual Swachhta Survey and expressed determination to clinch tag of cleanest city of the country from Indore. But it seems, this is a distant dream for the State capital if some of the members of ground staff do not mend their ways of working.
A visit to ward no. 71 office by the reporter uncovered shocking facts and it was found that cattle were roaming freely inside and around the compound of BMC’s ward no. 71 office. Moreover, it was the scene when National Lok Adalat was to be held on September 14. As several people were visiting the place, but first they were welcomed with pile of cow dung spread at the main gate.
When ‘The Hitavada reporter asked about such filthy condition in and surrounding the Zonal Officer of Ashoka Garden, Neeraj Namdev who initially refused to respond later angrily replied, “What can we do if cows come and dung remains here?
Even after the second day of National Lok Adalat, situation remained unchanged.
There was no action till the report was filed. This office is supposed to address people’s
problems, but if it is surrounded by filth, who will resolve these issues? Additionally, why are cows allowed to roam around and defecate on streets? Is there no one to manage the stray cattle? Our Government runs many schemes for cow welfare, so why do these cows continue to wander around the streets? Despite BMC Commissioner Harendra Narayan, who himself takes prompt action to get the issue of stray animals resolve speedily.
Commissioner himself used to call team to catch such animals. But such adamant and remorseless attitude by a field staff is enough to dent all efforts by their higher-ups.
