As viral video of an enraged policeman disrobing in Singrauli went viral, Pradesh Congress lashes out at Dr Mohan Yadav government and questioned law and order situation. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, senior Congress leader K K Mishra said that since the ASI has self-respect, he didn’t wait to escalate the matter further, he disrobed himself. It shows the degree of his pain and of ruling party leader’s husband who had threatened the policeman to disrobe his uniform. Home Department is with Chief Minister. But in this case, it is clearly evident that who is running the department, Mishra said. However, police authorities said that the video was of February and action had already been taken against Assistant Sub Inspector Vinod Mishra, who is seen in indulging in the act after a heated exchange with the husband of a BJP corporator. The Congress uploaded the clip during the day and said, “The level of policing in the State has become zero. Crimes are uncontrolled, criminals are fearless and the police are helpless at some places and under pressure at other places,” the party claimed.

This viral video is said to be from Waidhan police station of Singrauli, where a policeman got so upset due to the pressure of the BJP councillor that he tore his uniform,” the party said, adding the condition of the Home Department had deteriorated under Chief Minister. On the other side police officials said that after the incident investigation was done and according to the probe report action has been taken. It is learnt that increment of assistant sub inspector Vinod Mishra has been stopped. Arjun Gupta, husband of BJP Corporator Gauri Gupta, denied allegations saying that matter was related to construction of a drain. Mishra on Monday said that Gupta threatened to tear off his clothes and get him thrown out of service in the presence of police station in-charge Sudhesh Tiwari, adding he removed his uniform after feeling insulted. “I should not have reacted like this,” Mishra added.
