Paralympics 2024 bronze medallist Rubina Francis accorded a rousing welcome on her arrival at hometown, on Monday. Rubina, who competes in the para category, has made history as the first Indian female shooter to win a medal in pistol shooting at the Paralympics held in Paris. Rubina reached at Jabalpur Railway Station, where she received a grand welcome from her family, well-wishers and staff members and shooters from the Gun For Glory Shooting Academy, Jabalpur. Following her arrival, Rubina first visited the academy, where she interacted with the shooters and shared insights about her journey and preparation for the Paralympics.
 
She recounted how she began shooting after participating in a talent search organised by the Gun for Glory Shooting Academy in her school in 2015. During her visit, Rubina also offered advice on how shooters can prepare for competitions. Her achievement was celebrated by numerous distinguished guests, including Bishop Gerald Almeida, MLA, Cantt, Ashok Rohani, Dr Prashant Mishra, Chairman of Mahakoshal Krida Parishad and other notable figures such as Pastor Ashar Wahaab, State President of the Catholic Association Manish Charles, Vice-President of the All India Christian Conference Vinod Chambers, David Francis, Melvin Porter, Shaul Kumar, Pravin Singh, Prabhakar Chakravarty, Sanjay Matthews, Abhishek Pandey and various other eminent personalities.
