PRIME Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off the Raipur (Durg)-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Udaghatan Special Express from Raipur Railway station on Monday. During the event, the Prime Minister also flagged off six Vande Bharat trains. The Vande Bharat Train departed from platform 7 of Raipur Railway Station. Governor Ramen Deka, Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs Tokhan Sahu, MPs Brijmohan Agrawal, Vijay Baghel, MLAs Rajesh Munat, Purandar Mishra, Guru Khushwant Saheb, Gajendra Yadav, Domanlal Korsebeda, former MP Sunil Soni, Divisional Railway Manager Raipur Sanjeev Kumar, public representatives and others were present during the flagging off ceremony of the train at Platform 7 of Raipur Railway Station.
 
Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai virtually participated in the programme. Speaking at the event, Governor Ramen Deka said that passenger train services have improved with the introduction of the Vande Bharat Train. Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, along with MPs Brijmohan Agrawal and Vijay Baghel, also addressed the gathering, praising the Central government’s efforts. School and college students enjoyed a special ride on the Vande Bharat train on the inaugural day. The Durg-Visakhapatnam-Durg Vande Bharat Express, will operate six days a week, except on Thursdays. On Monday, the train ran as the Inaugural Special, following a special timetable. Starting from September 20, it will follow its regular schedule. The train has a total of 16 coaches. 
 
PM to launch Awas Yojana Gramin today
 
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually launch the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin on Tuesday. During the programme, funds will be transferred directly to the accounts of the beneficiaries. The event will be attended by various ministers, including Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai. In preparation for the launch, Director of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin, Rajat Bansal, and Collector Dr Gaurav Singh inspected the programme venue at the Indoor Stadium in Budhapara, Raipur. The inspection included an overview of the event arrangements to ensure everything is in place. SSP Santosh Singh, District Panchayat CEO Vishwadeep, Additional Collector Devendra Patel, along with other officers and employees, were also present during the inspection to oversee the preparations for the successful execution of the programme.
