CRIME Branch team have
nabbed two drug peddlers
Suraj Yadav (21) and Hari Gurjar
(22) both residents of Vidisha
for peddling ganja in the city.
Cops seized four packets of
ganja worth Rs 80,000 and a
four-wheeler worth Rs 5 lakh.
The accused smuggled ganja from Odisha on the directions of Mahendra Yadav and
Ashok Vishwakarma of Vidisha
and used to sell it in the State.
Details stated that Mahendra
Yadav, who is absconding in a case pertaining to smuggling
drugs, used to provide money to Suraj and Hari for buying ganja whereas Ashok provided vehicle for smuggling
it. The team while invoking
Section 8\20 of Narcotic
Drugs and Psychotropic
Substance nabbed the peddlers. Acting on the directives of senior police officers,
a team headed by Station
Incharge Ashok Marvi was
constituted to investigate
into illegal drug trafficking
in the city.
The Crime Branch team
was tipped off that two drug
peddlers were looking to sell
the substance at Jamboree
Maidan. Noting seriousness
of the information, the team
reached the site and saw two
suspects matching whistle
blower’s description. As per
details, Suraj Yadav and Hari
Gurjar were carrying a bag
that were hidden in a fourwheeler.
These bags contained illegal substance
which led to their arrest.
According to details, cops
stated that during interrogation both the peddlers
admitted carrying ganja.
The smugglers during
interrogation revealed that
both were peddling 90 packets of ganja from unknown
sellers of Odisha via
Jharkhand as per the instructions of Mahendra and
Ashok. They added that a few
unidentified people attacked
them on their way to Bhopal
and snatched 86 packets of
drugs.
The accused were planning to sell 4 packets of ganja that were kept in the bag
prior to the attack at
Jamboore Maidan as per
directed by Mahendra Yadav
and Ashok Vishwakarma.
