IN AN era where even an underprivileged parent wishes for his
ward to join a CBSE school,
surprisingly, the schools run
by Nagpur Municipal
Corporation (NMC) are attracting a huge number of students.
The six English schools of NMC
have received 825 applications
for 353 seats.
The enthusiastic response of
parents for admission to NMC’s
English medium schools continues this year as well.
Municipal Commissioner and
Administrator Dr Abhijeet
Chaudhari said that efforts were
being made to increase the number of English schools in the
coming years to accomodate
each and every student willing
for admission to the schools.
The schools are being run in collaboration with Akanksha
Foundation.
The students not
only get quality education but
they don’t have to pay a single
penny also.
NMC started imparting
English medium education from
2021 with an aim that the students of NMC schools should not
be left behind in competing with
the students of other schools.
The
schools include Babhulban
English Medium School in East
Nagpur, Ram Nagar English
Medium School inWest Nagpur,
Rani Durgavati English Medium School in North Nagpur,
R a m b h a u
Mhalginagar English
Medium School in
South Nagpur, late
Baburao Bobde
Municipal English
Medium School in
Central Nagpur.
Gopalraoji Motghare
(Khadan) Municipal
English Medium School is the
latest addition to the list.
Last year, admissions were
given for Junior KG and Senior
KG in these schools. This year,
admissions were also given for
Junior KG, Senior KG, Grade 1
and Grade 2. Now these schools
are running upto Class
3. 472 aspirants could
not get admission due
to full enrollment in
the school.
Parents are turning
towards these schools
which is a very positive aspect.
Education Officer
Sadhana Sayam informed that
efforts are being made to
increase the number of schools
on the initiative of Dr Abhijit
Chaudhari.
