BJP leaders giving complaint to police in Jagdalpur.
RAIPUR,
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lodged a formal complaint against Congress leader and Lok Sabha Opposition member Rahul Gandhi for statements made during his recent visit to the United States.
BJP’s district units in five divisions i.e. Raipur, Durg, Jagdalpur, Bilaspur and Surguja, filed the complaints, alleging that Rahul Gandhi’s remarks indicate a divisive mentality based on caste, religion, language and region, thereby tarnishing India’s image on the global stage. BJP State General Secretary Sanjay Shrivastava, District President Jayanti Patel, and other officials in Raipur spearheaded the complaints. Sanjay Srivastava criticized Rahul Gandhi for allegedly meeting with representatives of foreign forces who, according to him, aim to create political, economic, and social instability in India. He labeled Rahul Gandhi’s actions and comments during his foreign visit as anti-national, accusing him of conspiring to damage India’s religious harmony and insult the Sikh community.
During his US visit, Rahul Gandhi allegedly made inappropriate and irrelevant remarks about the Sikh community’s religious symbols, including the turban and Kada. BJP officials claim these comments hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community and were part of a deliberate strategy to malign India’s image and present the country unfavorably on the international stage.
BJP District Presidents Jayantibhai Patel (Raipur City), Jitendra Verma (Durg), Roopsingh Mandavi (Bastar), Ramdev Kumawat (Bilaspur), and Lallan Pratap Singh (Surguja) condemned Rahul Gandhi, accusing him of engaging in divisive politics and aligning himself with anti-India elements.
They referenced his previous remarks in Parliament, where he used derogatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and spoke about beating him with a stick. The BJP leaders further accused Rahul Gandhi of attempting to destabilize the country by demanding foreign intervention in India’s democracy and expressing intentions to end reservations for Dalits, backward, and tribal communities. In Raipur, BJP officials filed the complaint at the Civil Lines police station, led by District President Jayanti Patel. Along with him, BJP State General Secretary Sanjay Srivastava, former MLA Shrichand Sundarani, Labhchand Bafna, State Spokesperson Nalinish Thokne, Amarjeet Singh Chhabra, Umesh Ghormode, District General Secretary Satyam Duva, Amit Mashri, Anoop Khedkar, Devdutt Sahu, and other party members were present. In the complaint, District President Jayanti Patel expressed outrage over Rahul Gandhi’s alleged actions during his U.S. trip. He claimed that Gandhi insulted the Sikh community and all Sanatan lovers by making false and baseless allegations. Patel also accused Gandhi of associating with individuals involved in anti-India activities, indicating support for separatists and terrorists.
The BJP further criticised Gandhi for repeatedly using defamatory language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who belongs to the Other Backward Class (OBC) community, suggesting his behavior reflects a criminal mindset. The party argues that such defamatory remarks against the Prime Minister amount to criminal conduct. According to the BJP, Rahul Gandhi’s actions are part of a larger plot to harm India’s unity and integrity by spreading anti-national sentiments with malicious intent. Additionally, they accused him of misleading Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes by falsely claiming that their reservations would be abolished.
