Bomb hoax at Raja Bhoj Airport Accused cites family disputes as motive

 

 

 

Police on Thursday said that Raja Bhoj Airport received a bomb threat over a phone call by an accused identified as Darshan (33), a resident of New Subhash Nagar. Following the threat call, Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) team started a search operation at the airport. Gandhi Nagar police while invoking Section 351 (4) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) have registered a case against the accused. Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, over phone DCP Sunder Singh Kanesh said “The accused called on dial 100 and claimed that he would explode Raja Bhoj Airport. After getting the threat call, police started investigation.

 

It was later revealed by the accused that owing to family disputes and being disturbed over the same, he sent bomb threats to blow the airport”. According to the information, accused Darshan has been arrested and cops are taking action against him by invoking sections of 351 (4) of BNS. During interrogation, it was found that he was disturbed with family disputes due to which he took such a step. He stated that he has approached police on various occasions and raised a complaint about his family but no heed was paid in this regard. Gandhi Nagar cop stated that the family keeps pressuring him to get a job but Darshan fails to find any. Anguished over the pressure, he decided to call the police and made a hoax call. Further investigations are underway.
