Within 48 hours of a woman’s death in a tiger attack, another person got injured in tiger attack that took place in Peth Parsodi in Parsheoni taluka on Thursday morning. Chandrakant Ingle (45), a resident of Peth Parsodi, was working in his agriculture land, when the tiger attacked and injured him. The villagers who were working near the area rushed the spot and shifted Ingle in Meditrina Hospital in Nagpur.
 
After getting information about the incident, Dr Bharat Singh Hada, Deputy Conservator of Forest, Nagpur met the victim at the hospital. He was accompanied by Ravi Ghadge, ACF; and A B Bhagat, RFO. Forest Department started enquiry and conducted panchanama of the spot as per the guidelines of National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA). On Tuesday also, one women was killed in a tiger attack in Ramtek taluka. After that incident, the villagers vandalised forest vehicles and injured forest guards. To avoid such cases of man-animal conflict, the Forest Department increased patrolling in affected areas and asked villagers to avoid venturing out alone in forest areas.
 
Leopard kills cattle in Khapa area

Three cattle were killed in a leopard attack on Thursday in Nandapur and Kodegaon areas of Khapa forest range in Saoner taluka. Villagers are in panic for many days due to a leopard venturing near human settlements and killing cattle in Khapa area. Fed-up of the leopard attack in the area, the residents of Khapa area are demanding the capture of the leopard from the forest department. One leopard is venturing in Nandapur area and attacked cattle many times in last few days.
 
Recently, the leopard killed one calf of a buffalo and now on Thursday the same leopard killed another calf of a cow in an agriculture land owned by Anandrao Chaudhari and Hiraji Chaudhari. Due to back-to-back incidents of leopard attack in Nandapur and Kodegaon areas, the villagers are avoiding to visit agriculture lands for daily work. The forest department has increased patrolling in the forest area and asked villagers to be indoor during night time and avoid visiting forest area.
