In a significant turn of events in Raipur, Shoaib Dhebar, nephew of Mayor Aijaz Dhebar and son of jailed liquor scam accused Anwar Dhebar, has been sent to jail following an assault at Zouk Club Bar. The incident occurred on Wednesday night at the bar, situated on VIP Road, inside the premises of Hotel Sheetal International, when Dhebar and his associates were embroiled in a violent altercation. According to the complainant, Abdul Momin Khan, the altercation unfolded at around 10:15 p.m. when he arrived at the hotel with a friend. Finding a BMW car blocking the entrance, he honked, prompting Shoaib Dhebar and his associates, Anas and Atiq Memon, to exit the vehicle. This led to a verbal spat with Shoaib allegedly hurling abusive language and physically assaulting Khan. Following the incident, Khan lodged a formal complaint at the Telibandha police station. Based on the complaint and initial investigations, an FIR was registered against Shoaib and his two associates under relevant sections of the law. Telibandha Police sources confirmed that Shoaib was taken into custody and presented before the court the next day. While he was granted bail for the assault charges, the police opted for preventive detention.

“Despite the bail for assault, his continuous attempts to disturb public order necessitated his preventive detention,” stated a police official. Shoaib was then presented before the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) under sections 170 and 125, 135(1) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita Samhita (BNSS). Following the hearing, the SDM ordered Shoaib’s detention in jail. This is not the first instance of Shoaib Dhebar’s involvement in such controversies. He has a history of violent altercations across various parts of the city, including an infamous confrontation with the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (UP STF) during his father’s arrest. Despite previous complaints and allegations, Shoaib has managed to evade stringent legal action until now. His latest arrest indicates the authorities’ growing intolerance towards public disorder, especially involving high-profile individuals.
