JMC Commissioner holds review meet with Addnl, Asst Commissioners

Municipal Commissioner Preeti Yadav conducted a review meeting with all Additional Commissioners, Assistant Commissioners and others senior officials and gave necessary directions for city’s beautification. Discussing on-going works, she said waste collection points across the city will soon be transformed with vibrant colors and captivating artwork. From city streets to residential areas and markets, cleanliness will be carried out even in conservancies under ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign 2024. Yadav emphasized that to ensure success of this extensive cleanliness campaign, it is essential to involve more citizens at the grassroots level. She encouraged the participation of NGOs, students from schools and colleges and other community members in large numbers.

The Municipal Commissioner is continuously striving to improve Jabalpur's ranking in cleanliness surveys. She has urged all involved officials to work with dedication and cautioned against any negligence in carrying out the campaign’s activities. Yadav further informed that a comprehensive plan has been prepared for the beautification of all waste collection points in the city and work is already going on at brisk pace. Under Swachh Survekshan 2024, efforts are being made to transform waste collection points into attractive spaces. She also appealed to the citizens to dispose of household and commercial waste only in designated garbage vehicles, rather than at waste collection points, to assist the JMC administration in keeping the city clean and beautiful. During the review meeting, Yadav announced that 9 different awards would be given in various categories for public participation in the Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. These categories include participation in cleanliness, targeted unit transformation, Safai Mitra (sanitation worker) safety camps, public advocacy, clean food streets, Swachh Bharat cultural festivals, waste-to-art projects, special partnerships, and innovations. Various events will be organized, and those demonstrating outstanding performance will be recognized with awards.
