Raisoni memorial Vid-level badminton gets underway

 

 

 

NAGPUR shuttlers began their campaign in the Raisoni Foundation’s Yonex-Sunrise GH Raisoni Memorial Vidarbha Level Badminton Tournament on a positive note registering wins over their respective rivals on Friday. The tournament is being organised by Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation and Nagpur District Badminton Association under the auspices of Maharashtra Badminton Association at Subhedar Badminton Hall, RTMNU Campus, Ravi Nagar.

 

In the men’s singles city’s Nabeel Ahmed defeated Utkarsh Nimje of Wardha 15-8, 15-8 while Rohan Singh, beat city-mate Atharva Selokar 15-5, 15-1 to move up in the tournament. Similarly, in the Under-17 girls section, Sharvaree Ganar beat Bhargavi Giradkar 10-15, 15-13, 15-11 while Niraja Kulkarni defeated Wardha’s Kinjal Niwarti 15-5, 15-7 to stay in the competition. Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated by Kundatai Vijaykar, President, NDBA. Mangesh Kashikar, Senior Vice-President, MBA and Secretary, NDBA, Mrunal Naik, Project Manager, GH Raisoni Sports and Cultural Foundation, Jovel Chandekar, Secretary, Coaching and Development, MBA, Bhavana Agrey, Joint Secretary, NDBA, Gurdeep Singh Arora. EC Member, NDBA, Aditya Galande, Tournament Referee, were also present on the occasion..
