After observing traffic jams on Wardha Road during the evening hours, the City Traffic Police has decided to block diversions at Rahate Colony Square and Kriplani Square from Monday from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm. According to DCP Traffic Archit Chandak, traffic movement from Nagpur to Wardha and from Wardha to Nagpur has increased during peak hours from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm.

With Rahate Colony Square and Kriplani Square in close proximity, vehicles coming from the Shaheed Govari Flyover often cause major traffic jams on the flyover. The police have also noted that the number of vehicles turning at Rahate Colony Square is minimal compared to those traveling along the Nagpur-Wardha and Wardha-Nagpur routes. As a result, the police have decided to block the turning points at both squares and set the signals on blinker mode during peak hours to help facilitate smoother traffic flow on an experimental basis and additional traffic policemen would be deployed. The notification will be enforced from September 23 to 28 and it would be continued after observing the results.

New traffic arrangements

1) Vehicles coming from Morris College T-point will proceed to Ajni Square without any diversions at Rahate Colony Square or Kriplani Square.
