CHHATTISGARH’S farmers have been honoured with a prestigious award in the field of sericulture. During the 75th Foundation Day celebration of the Central Silk Board in Bengaluru, Chhattisgarh received the Best Achiever Award for Tasar Silkworm Rearing and Tasar Yarn Production Activities from Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh on September 20. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai extended his congratulations to the officials, employees, and silkworm farmers of the Rural Industries Department for this significant achievement. Secretary-cum-Director Yashwant Kumar expressed his delight at this accomplishment and stated that Santosh Kumar Dewangan from Sivani village in Janjgir-Champa district was nominated as a Yarn Producer, and Ganesh Ram Sidar from Bar village in SarangarhBilaigarh district was nominated as a Tasar Silkworm Rearer, based on recommendations.
 
A comprehensive compilation, including award certificates, success stories, photographs, and videos, was submitted to the Joint Secretary of the Central Silk Board, Bengaluru. The Rural Industries Department's Silk Division had sent these Tasar Silkworm Rearer and Yarn Producer farmers to participate in the "Platinum Jubilee Celebration" on behalf of the state. Both categories of participating farmers were recognised and awarded by the Central Silk Board, Bengaluru.
