TOP seed from Nagpur Nehal Gosavi kept her reputation intact as she stormed into the women’s final of the on going Yonex-Sunrise GH Raisoni Memorial Vidarbha-Level Badminton Tournament at Subhedar Hall, RTMNU Sports Complex, Ravi Nagar.

 

In the semi-finals, Nehal quelledthechallengefromcitymate Ditisha Somkuwar 21-8, 21-16. She will lock horns with Mugdha Sawarkar, also of Nagpur, who ousted Bhumi Lalka 21-16, 21-15 in the second semi-final. In the men’s singles, Nabeel Ahmed, Aditya Chouhan, Chunhar meet Sokhi andJeeva Pillaimadeittothesemi-finals with victories in the quarterfinals. Ahmed got the better of Harshit Nerkar 21-17, 21-14 while Chouhan ousted Sanidhya Khandare 21-15, 21- 19.ChunharmeetSokhihadto fight it out hard to beat Shashank Kulal 15-21, 21-13, 21-13andJeevaPillaimanaged to oust Gandhar Nawale with a 21-17, 16-21, 21-19 win.

 

InthegirlsU-9 final,Kshitija Yaul will meet Prisha Titare for the title. Top seedKshitijahadnodifficulty in defeating Sanvi Khot 21-3, 21-0 while Prisha beat Chinmayi Dapurkar21-13,21- 3 to set date with Kshitija. Meanwhile, Rajendra Yadav defeated Prakash Satpaise of Chandrapur 21-6, 21-12 to clinchthemen’s35singles title while Manjiri Dhok beat Purnima Somkuwar 21-16,21- 13 to lay her hands on the trophyinwomen’s35agecategory.
