NAGPUR district emerged overall champions winning most medals in the Maharashtra State Veteran Aquatics Championships
that concluded at NIT pool recently.
The event was a joint venture of Nagpur District Veterans Swimming Association and Hanuman Sports Academy under the aegis of Maharashtra State Veterans Aquatics.
Nagpur district swimmers claimed 226 medals including 84 golds, 74 silver and 68 bronze. Thane district swimmers claimed total 116 medals to finish second and Nanded swimmers claim third position with 72 medals.
The guests for the event were K Rajkumaran, Sunil Shah and Sanjay Lokhande. Officials Arun Sawant, Shekhar Bhavsar, Amit Saoji, Akhil Mantri and organiser Sanjay Batwe were prominently present during the meet.
President of Hanuman Sports Academy Prashant Ugemuge handed over the medals and certificate to the winners. Vilas Fale, Ashish Dakhore, Anjali Shah, Ashwin Mokashi and others provided assistance in smooth conduct of the meet.
Nagpur President Saoji, Secretary Mantri, Pankaj Chawla and Batwe were felicitated by State association for their outstanding contribution.
Bharat Bhai, Mukesh Agrawal, PK Jain, Vishal Agrawal, Damodardas Sharda, Sunish Shah, Sunil Agrawal, Sikandar Pal Singh were the guests for prize distribution function.
The function was conducted by Pawan Mehadia and CA Gitesh UmalKar proposed a vote of thanks.
