HIGHLIGHTING the achievements of the Eknath Shindeled Government in the State, Minister of Industries Uday Samant on Friday said Maharashtra has seen industrial growth in its all corner. Speaking at the function - ‘Maharashtrachi Udyog Bharari’ - held here in the city, Samant said the State has succeeded in attracting highest foreign direct investment (FDI) in the country. “Two and half years back we were behind Gujarat in terms of attracting FDI. However, today we are not only ahead of the neighbouring state but also left it far behind,” he said. Maharashtra received an impressive 29 per cent of the total FDI in India in the first quarter of 2023. Samant attributed the success to the new entrepreneurfriendly policies of the state.

“We are offering red carpet to the entrepreneurs willing to invest here. Our policies are transparent and prompt. we are also offering all possible support to the investors and giving them incentives,” he said. “While new industrial units are being set up, existing plants are expanding there base. People are witnessing industrial growth in Konkan,Western Maharashtra, North Maharashtra, and Vidarbha, among other areas. This has led to creation of a large number of jobs. However, a section of people are spreading false narrative saying that Gujarat and other states are allowed to snatch investment from Maharashtra,” he added. Thus, Samant said that the Maharashtra’s Industries Department has launched series of functions called ‘Maharashtrachi Udyog Bharari’ which will be held all over with an objective of informing masses the achievements of the Government. Earlier, Pradip Chandran, Additional Development Commissioner (Industries), gave the introductory remarks. He spoke about the industrial scenario of the state. A presentation on Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) and Directorate of Industries and other schemes of the Government was also held highlighting the overall growth. The minister also handed over cheques to beneficiaries of various schemes of the State Government. MLA Ashish Jaiswal, senior officers and others were also present.
