The bus rammed into the pillar of the newly constructed
bridge after the accident on Saturday morning.

Traffic chaos erupted on the Nagpur-Amravati Highway when a speeding private travels bus collided with a loaded truck at the Katol bypass turning under the jurisdiction of Wadi Police Station early Saturday morning. Three persons — driver, conductor and a woman passenger were injured in the accident.
According to police, the bus, identified as Khurana Express (MH-40/BG-8783), was traveling from Nanded to Nagpur with 22 passengers onboard. The driver, Shivaji, lost control of the vehicle at T-point of Katol Bypass square and collided
with a truck. The truck was driven by Sunil Kumar Sonawane and was transporting goods for Ujjwal Ispat from Raipur.
The impact caused the truck to spin around, while the bus continued forward.
The bus then climbed the divider and crashed into the bridge pillar. The bus driver, conductor and a woman passenger were injured in the accident. Staff of Wadi Police Station and MIDC Traffic Police arrived at the spot and rushed the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.
It may be mentioned that local residents are raising the issue of lack of traffic signal at the site. Additionally, it was noted that the loaded truck did not have a conductor present at the time of the accident. Wadi Police have registered a case and started investigation.
