City shooters shine in State meet
 
SHOOTERS Heemanshu and Aarohi brought laurels to the city by excelling in 10m air rifle shooting event in the India Open Rifle/Pistol Competition (NR) that was organised in Goa by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI). Heemanshu Gabhane secured three gold medals in the following categories — Sub-Youth Boys, Youth Boys And Junior Boys, and Aarohi Kutemate secured one bronze in junior girls. Both are members of Orange City Sports Shooting Club A total of six young shooters have qualified for the National Shooting Championship Competition (NSCC).
 
They include - Heemanshu, Aarohi, Mansi Korke, Ridima Shrivastava, Dharini Borade and Siddhesh Darvekar. All qualified shooters are trained by founder of Orange City Sports Shooting Club Anil Pande. The club has three branches in Nagpur —at GRPF Headquarters Ajni, Jyotiba Phule NIT Sports Complex Swavalambi Nagar and ADBA Sports Complex KT Nagar, Friends Colony. President, vice-president Kanchan Choudhary, Maitree Parivaar Sanstha, and all the club members congratulated the shooters and believe that they are ready for international-level competition.
