GIIS Nagpur conducts School CinemaInternational Film Festival for 2nd time

 

 

GLOBAL Indian International School (GIIS) Nagpur conducted the School Cinema International Film Festival (SCIFF) for the second consecutive year, bringing an enriching cinematic experience directly to students. The festival, which ran from August 15 to August 31, 2024, showcased over 80 films from more than 20 countries, offering a unique blend of entertainment and education.

 

This year’s festival expanded upon the success of the previous edition, creating a dynamic platform for students and parents to explore global cinema in the comfort of the school environment. Speaking on the successful completion of the festival, Syed Sultan Ahmed, Director, SCIFF expressed his satisfaction with the continued partnership with Global Schools Group. “Renewing SCIFF at GIIS Nagpur for a second year has reinforced our shared commitment to provide the transformative educational experiences through cinema.

 

The positive impact of our previous collaboration motivated us to continue this journey, leveraging the power of films to inspire and educate,” he said. The festival’s line-up featured a diverse range of over 80 exceptional films, spanning various genres and languages from animated adventures to thought-provoking documentaries. Highlighting the film festival’s vision, Nidhi Gupta, Principal, Global Indian International School, Nagpur said, “By offering world-class cinema directly to our students, we create an opportunity for them to engage with diverse narratives in a familiar and comfortable environment. Our aim is to equip the next generation with a global outlook and to strengthen their critical thinking skills”. Students and parents were captivated by a range of films, including‘The Road toVictory,’ ‘Bean Boy’, ‘Leap of Faith’, and ‘She Creates Change: Diksha’, to name a few. These films were thoughtfully selected to appeal to different age groups and interests. The festival not only provided entertainment but also sparked meaningful discussions and reflections, broadening students' understanding of the world. T
