KEEPING in mind theinterests
of the farmers, the Board of
Directors of Agricultural
Produce Market Committee
(APMC), Ramtek has decided
to cancel the service charge
being collected from them by
the committee.
Addressing a press conference in the auditorium of the
Market Committee recently,
Chairman Sachin Kirpan said
that after the cancellation of
service charge, the market
committee will have to face a
financiallossof aboutRs8lakh
every year.
According to the information, after the State
Government decided to stop
the collection of market tax
(bazar cess), the market committee was charging 1 per cent
as service charge from the
farmers selling vegetables.
Ondemanding cancellation
of service charges, Kirpan
placed the issue before the
Board of Directors on and the
Board of Directors after indepth deliberations and discussions unanimously passed
theproposal tocancel theservice charge.
Kirpan said that the Board
of Directors has also decided
to compensate the financial
loss to the market committee
from other sources.
He further said following the
demand, thenameofDevlaparSub-Market of Agricultural
Produce Market Committeelocated in the tribal area hasbeen changed to“Kranti SuryaVirsaMundaSub-Market”.Thesub-market, bakra mandi andvegetable market will be started soon.
