Shanti Samiti meeting was organised to discuss arrangements for upcoming festivals Durga Utsav, Punjabi Dussehra, Vijayadashami, Guru Nanak Jayanti and Diwali at Police Control Room. The meeting aimed to encourage citizens to celebrate these festivals with traditional enthusiasm, peace and communal harmony. Collector Deepak Saxena (IAS) and Superintendent of Police, Aditya Pratap Singh (IPS) chaired the meeting while MLA Lakhan Ghanghoria and other members were present. Officers informed about the historical significance of Durga Utsav and Dussehra processions in district, which are renowned across the country for their cultural importance and grandeur. During the meeting, members discussed increasing security in sensitive areas, ensuring adequate water and lighting arrangements, maintaining uninterrupted power supply and proper upkeep of procession routes.
 
The committee members emphasized over the importance of safety and cleanliness at religious sites and immersion points, as well as traffic management. They also assured their cooperation to maintain law and order during the festivals and demanded to take strict action against elements attempting to create disturbances. Besides this, a suggestion was made to prohibit Garba celebrations on the 7th, 8th and 9th days of the festival. The committee praised the joint initiative by religious committee leaders and the administration to conduct idol immersion on a single day. Collector Saxena appreciated the suggestions made by committee members and thanked them for their support during previous festivals like Ganesh Utsav and Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
 
He emphasized the need for festival committees to ensure that public life is not disrupted. Special attention was assured for women’s safety, with additional police presence near temples. At the outset, Collector Saxena outlined the administrative arrangements being made for the festivals and instructed officials from the municipal corporation and electricity department to inspect the routes for the Dussehra procession and managing the low-hanging power lines. SP, Aditya Pratap Singh assured committee members that stringent security measures would be implemented during the festivals. He encouraged Durga Utsav committees to install CCTV cameras around pandals for enhanced security. He also instructed the implementation of the suggestions made in the meeting and directed that discussions be held with idol organizers, Garba organizers and DJ operators in the presence of relevant authorities. The meeting also covered arrangements for the Punjabi Dussehra celebration and programs for Guru Nanak Jayanti.
