Reach over 35,000 citizens in a single day under cyber awareness campaign

In a ground-breaking achievement, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai (KCG) Police have made history by conducting a record-setting cyber awareness campaign that reached 35,130 citizens across 218 locations in a single day. This remarkable initiative, spearheaded by the visionary leadership of Superintendent of Police Trilok Bansal, has earned the KCG Police a coveted place in the prestigious Golden Book of World Records, solidifying their contribution to advancing cyber security education in India. Recognised officially by Sonal Rajesh Sharma, the Chhattisgarh Head of the Golden Book of World Records, KCG Police’s efforts were celebrated as a monumental step in combating the growing threat of cyber crimes such as phishing, digital fraud, job scams, and sextortion, using accessible language and innovative methods like theatrical performances.

The KCG Police’s far-reaching campaign was designed to protect citizens from the increasing dangers of cyber fraud. Under SP Trilok Bansal’s leadership and the strategic guidance of Rajnandgaon Inspector General of Police Deepak Jha, 75 specially trained teams of police officers were deployed to both urban centres and remote rural areas.
This unprecedented mobilisation ensured that vital information on cyber crimes and preventive measures reached not just urban citizens but also vulnerable rural populations, empowering them to safeguard themselves from online fraud. Citizens were educated on how to report cyber fraud through helplines like 1930 and the national cyber crime portal. The grand event to celebrate this world record took place at Dr Narendra Dev Auditorium, Khairagarh Music University, where dignitaries, including Durg Divisional Commissioner S N Rathore, IGP Deepak Jha, District Magistrate Chandrakant Verma, District Judge Chandrakumar Kashyap, and Divisional Forest Officer Alok Tiwari, gathered to witness this proud moment. During the ceremony, Sonal Rajesh Sharma officially presented the world record certificate and medal to SP Trilok Bansal, recognising his innovative and tireless efforts in making this campaign a groundbreaking success.
