The Employee Provident Fund Office (EPFO) has urged pensioners to deposit their Digital Life Certificate or Non-Remarriage Certificate as early as possible. Failing this, their PPO (Pension Payment Order) will be called back from the bank and the process to cancel it will begin. It is mandatory for pensioners of the Employee Provident Fund (EPF) to submit their Digital Life Certificate or Non-Remarriage Certificate every year through the Life Certificate Portal. If these certificates are not submitted after the completion of one year, the pension payments will be stopped from the next month.

Pensioners who have already submitted their Life Certificate within the past year do not need to update it immediately. Rakesh Sahrawat, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner informed that based on data collected from the pensioners’ database, around 11,888 pensioners have not submitted their Digital Life Certificate or Non-Remarriage Certificate through the portal. Out of these, 3,785 pensioners have not submitted these certificates for the past three years. All such pensioners are advised to submit the certificates along with an affidavit as soon as possible. Failing this, their PPO (Pension Payment Order) will be called back from the bank and the process to cancel it will begin. Sahrawat also stated that since July 2022, EPFO has provided EPS pensioners with the facility to submit their Life Certificate from home using the Face Reader app via mobile phones. Pensioners need an Android phone with version 7.0 or higher, an internet connection, a camera resolution of at least 5 MP and an Aadhaar number registered with the pension-issuing bank to use this service.

The process is simple, pensioners can download the Aadhaar Face Reader app from the Google Play Store and scan their live photograph or video to submit the Life Certificate via the Jeevan Pramaan Face Application, available at https://jeevanpramaan.gov.in/package/download. Rakesh Sahrawat also urged all EPS pensioners who have not yet submitted their Digital Life Certificate or Non-Remarriage Certificate to do so either through the Face Reader app, UMANG app from home or by visiting their bank branch or nearby Common Service Centers (CSCs) to submit the Aadhaar-based biometric Digital Life Certificate (DLC). Pensioners only need to carry their mobile phone, bank passbook, pension payment order number, and Aadhaar card. In case any pensioner is facing difficulties in submitting their DLC, they can contact the Provident Fund office in Jabalpur or district offices in Satna and Chhindwara to update it for free. For pensioners who are unable to move, their DLC can be submitted from home by making a request to the Regional Office in Jabalpur or the District Offices in Satna or Chhindwara. Following the request, an authorized officer will visit their home to complete the process. Additionally, pensioners can attend the nearest camp under the "Nidhi Aapke Nikat 2.0" programme, which is organised on the 27th of every month, to file any complaints. They can also send details via WhatsApp to 6267777416 to receive further assistance.
