Maharashtra Cabinet on Thursday took 11 decisions of which two are related to Vidarbha. The Government has given approval to Civil Courts at Katol taluka in Nagpur district and Arvi in Wardha district. These Civil Courts will have judges of senior level. Similarly, two districts Paithan and Gangapur will have additional district courts while Hingoli became independent judicial district. The Cabinet has also given approval to establish Fishery Science College at Amravati. The number of pending cases should be 500 to start new courts in various places in the State. Most places in Maharashtra experience this type of pendency. To resolve these issues additional courts were required. Considering the problem, Maharashtra Cabinet has given approval to these Civil Courts. A court building and residences for judges are also available at this place. Necessary posts will be filled in both places. A total of 17 posts have been sanctioned for Katol and Arvi Civil courts.

The Cabinet meeting held today approved the allocation of space for a new College of Fisheries Science in Amravati district. There will 0.61 hectare R and 4.08 hectare R land in the colony belonged to Water Resources department in Morshi city. For practical use, the 33 hectares land of National Fish Seed Center, Simbhora will be given to Maharashtra Animal and Fisheries Science University (MAFSU). An amount worth Rs 31.48 crore will be spent for the posts in this college. Apart from that, Rs 171.6 crore will be used for construction, purchase of furniture and vehicles. Earlier in Morshi taluka Government had sanctioned Fisheries Science College. However, as this place was not useful, Government changed the place.

Meanwhile Anil Deshmukh, former Home Minister and leader of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) welcomed the decision of setting up civil court at Katol. “For the convenience of the people of Katol and Narkhed talukas, there was a demand to start a higher level civil court. That demand was approved in principle by the Bombay High Court and the proposal was sent to the Law and Justice Department of the State Government for further approval. But since this proposal was pending with the government for interim approval, I repeatedly followed up and demanded the approval of the government. Finally civil court of Katol got approval on Thursday,” said Deshmukh. Zilla Parishad member Salil Deshmukh also pursued the issue.
