VDCA’s selection camp ends

THE Vidarbha Disabled Cricket Association (VDCA), affiliated to Differently Abled Cricket Council of India which is supported by BCCI, organised a selection camp at SBCT Cricket Academy for the national competition. Through this camp, 20 outstanding players from Vidarbha will be selected for the national competition to be held in Udaipur, Rajasthan and for the zonal competition in Bhilai. Disabled players from Vidarbha participated in this event. Based on their performance in the recently concluded Vidarbha Disabled Premier League (VDPL), 35 outstanding players were selected for the camp.
 
The camp was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Police Commissioner Ravinder Singal. The function was presided over by District Collector Dr Vipin Itankar, who inaugurated the camp by displaying his batting skills. Takasande, Police Inspector Sakkardara; Dr Rahul Kharabe (VDCA Patron), Adil (Director AR Hotel), Ashok Katekar (Director AK Real Estate), Organisation President Sanjay Bhoskar, Vice-President Raju Dudhankar, Secretary Rahul Lekurwale and many others were present on the stage. On this occasion, Dr Itankar and Singal honoured Lokesh Marghade and Sarang Chafale for their international-level performance in cricket, and the duo of Irshad Khan and Prashant Gaurkar for their national-level performance. Ashok Katekar, Ali and former Ranji player Baburao Yadav were honoured for their co-operation and assistance.
 
District Collector and Police Commissioner assured all disabled players of guidance and support, promising to assist them in every possible way. Players’ BP, sugar levels, weight, blood group were checked by a doctor. The selection committee consisted of Baburao Yadav and Mohit Reddy (University player). All the office bearers and members of the Vidarbha Disabled Cricket Association, including Gurudas Raut, Dhiraj Harde, Sachin Pakhare, Janak Sahu, and others played a significant role in making this camp successful.
