Cash award for absconding accused of attempt to murder

DISTRICT police announced cash awards of Rs 10,000 for information about six absconding accused of attempt to murder crime, reported from Bhilai-3 on July 19 evening. In this connection the final decision would be taken by SP, Durg office regarding the justified awardees, the police said adding that the identity of informers would be confidential. SP, Durg office announced the cash award of Rs 10,000 for the informer, giving worthwhile information that could lead to arrest of the absconding accused Probir Sharma (37), a resident of Umda, Bhilai-3; Mukesh Mishra alias Shivam (37), a resident of T T Nagar, Raipur; Dhiraj Kumar alias Dhiru (35), a resident of Umda Road Bhilai-3; Rohit Pandey alias Ranjeet (27), a resident of Mangawa Rewa, Madhya Pradesh and Rohan Upadhyay alias Chhotu (20), a resident of Mangawa, Rewa, Madhya Pradesh who were involved in attempt to murder crime and out of police radar since the crime came to light.
 
The police have issued the photos of the two accused Probir Sharma and Mukesh Mishra, allegedly involved in the heinous offence. Anyone knowing specific details regarding these accused involved in the crime could pass the information over mobile phone numbers of ASP (City), Sukhnandan Rathore, 9827896500; CSP Chhaoni Police Subdivision, Harish Patil 9479192007; Dy SP (Crime) Hem Prakash Naik 7000616900 and SHO, Purani Bhilai Police Station, Mahesh Kumar Dhruv, 9479192025. At about 4:15 pm on July 19, 2024, Professor Vinod Sharma, a resident of Green Valley Colony, Junwani, Durg and Professor at Dr Khubachand College, Bhilai-3, was on his way home in his car with his driver Hemant when he stopped at a betel kiosk near Police Welfare Petrol Pump, Bhilai-3. While at the kiosk, the six armed accused arrived on motorbikes and allegedly assaulted Professor Sharma with lathis. In the attack Sharma was critically injured. The victim has been undergoing treatment at a medical center in Delhi and his condition is stated to be still critical.
