In a display of her admiration for the state’s progress, renowned actress and Padma Shri recipient Hema Malini lauded Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai’s contributions to Chhattisgarh during her visit to Raigarh for the prestigious Chakradhar Festival. Arriving at the Jindal Guest House, she engaged with the media, expressing her deep satisfaction with the state’s development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vishnu Deo Sai, a key figure in Chhattisgarh’s ongoing progress. “Under the guidance of PM Modi, Vishnu Deo Sai has been doing commendable work in Chhattisgarh. His dedication to fulfilling promises and delivering results on central government schemes is truly commendable,” she said. Hema Malini highlighted that the ‘double engine’ government, where both state and centre work in tandem, has been vital in ensuring the state’s steady march towards progress. She noted that Sai’s leadership has proven beneficial in implementing several key projects, ensuring the state is moving towards growth and development at a rapid pace.

“I have visited Chhattisgarh several times, especially during election campaigns, and it is heartening to see the visible improvements under Vishnu Deo Sai’s leadership,” she added. When asked about her personal connection with Chhattisgarh, Hema Malini fondly recalled her previous visits and interactions with the people of the region. A celebrated figure not only in the film industry but also in politics and performing arts, she shared how stage performances have kept her in touch with the common people. “Unlike film actors who may find it difficult to connect with the masses, I’ve always found my way through stage performances, which allow me to remain grounded and closer to the people,” she remarked. She expressed her willingness to return to film work, provided the role offered to her was substantial and meaningful. “I am open to acting, but it has to be an excellent role,” she emphasised. Hema Malini is here to perform at the Ramleela Grounds in Raigarh as part of the Chakradhar Festival.

She will showcase the much-anticipated ‘Radha Ras Bihari’ dance drama, a classical presentation she is renowned for. This will be her second performance at the event, and the audience is eagerly awaiting her graceful performance on stage. Her contribution to Indian cinema and performing arts, combined with her ability to connect with the people, continues to cement her legacy as a multifaceted artist. Notably, The Chakradhar Festival, a renowned cultural event, has drawn significant attention, with Hema Malini’s performance being one of its highlights.
