Newly-elected Jamshedpur East (Jharkhand) MLA Purnima Sahu received a warm welcome on her return to her alma mater, Mahant College, Raipur on Thursday. During a felicitation programme organised by the college, MLA Purnima Sahu expressed her gratitude and shared her experiences acknowledging Raipur as her birthplace and Jamshedpur East as her ‘Karmabhoomi’. Mla Purnima Sahu highlighted the contrasting challenges faced in both regions and emphasised how her student life at Mahant College prepared her for the path to success. She urged students to exercise patience, learn from their experiences, both good and bad, and persevere in life’s journey. She celebrated the strength of women, referring to mothers, daughters and wives as warriors who navigate life’s challenges with grace and resilience. College Principal Dr Debashish Mukherjee described the occasion as a moment of immense pride for the institution.

 

He acknowledged Purnima Sahu’s achievement as a reflection of the college’s commitment to nurturing leaders. Dr Mukherjee also highlighted the ongoing efforts of the alumni organisation in contributing to the college’s development. Dr Anupam Jain, a faculty member encouraged students to draw inspiration from Purnima Sahu’s journey. She applauded the alumni network for its continuous support and underscored the pride felt when former students achieve remarkable milestones. Alumni Organisation Secretary Pradeep Sahu reminisced about his student days and the role of the college in shaping lives. He also shared a heartfelt reflection on the strength and sacrifices of mothers, emphasising their vital role in nurturing future generations. The event was also attended by alumni members Ankit Shukla, Deepak and other supporters. The programme concluded with Dr Kiran Agarwal conducting the programme, making it a memorable day celebrating leadership, resilience and the enduring bond between the institution and its alumni.
