MOR Awas Mor Adhikar programme was organised in Nagpura of Durg district on Friday, in which Union Minister for Rural Development and Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shivraj Singh Chauhan participated as Chief Guest. The programme was inaugurated by washing the feet of the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana by chief guest and other dignitaries. Union Minister Chauhan said that this scheme is a symbol of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of empowering the poor. He said the double engine Government is working with full commitment to change the picture and fate of Chhattisgarh.
 
He added that 8 lakh 47 thousand houses have already been approved in Chhattisgarh so far. In the program, 3,3,384 new houses were announced by the Union Minister. Union Minister Chauhan said that the Central Government has set new eligibility criteria to make this scheme more inclusive. He said that women are being empowered under Prime Minister Modi’s Lakhpati Didi Yojana, which is bringing new life to the rural economy. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the previous government did not allow the flagship schemes of the Center to reach the common people. Due to the stoppage of PMAY, the dream of lakhs of poor people to get their own house remained unfulfilled. But after our government was formed, 18 lakh houses were approved the very next day of swearing-in. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that due to the coordination of the Central and State Government, there has been unprecedented progress in housing and road construction in the state.
 
In this program, material was distributed to Rural Mason trainees. Gram Panchayats, Janpad Panchayats and voluntary organizations doing excellent work were honoured. Incentives and cleanliness kits were distributed to the beneficiaries of individual toilet construction. Drone Didi and Lakhpati Didi were awarded certificates and their work was appreciated. Rights records were distributed to the beneficiaries under the ownership scheme. Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Sharma, Arun Saw, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam, Food Minister Dayal Das Baghel, MLA Jagdalpur Kiran Dev Singh, MLA Durg Rural Lalit Chandrakar, MLA Durg Urban Gajendra Yadav, MLA Ahiwara Domanlal Korsewada and others were present.
